Maggie is the happiest of brides - her life is perfect.
It is the 1970s. Her husband Gordon is handsome, charming and owns his own business.
He also has a mistress and his business is in financial trouble. Two things that draw him into illegal activities that become more and more dangerous. Two things he can never confess to his wife.
Maggie in the meantime, is growing up. She learns about women’s liberation and feminism. The inevitable crash between her evolving views and Gordon’s rigid orthodox and pedantic values force her to cope through prescription drugs and dedication to her flower garden with its very, very special flowers.
